Webinar: Firewood Banks

Firewood remains a common heating source for households in suburban and rural areas of the United States. It can be costly to purchase, and especially low-income households can struggle to afford it and public assistance programs typically do not provide any. This is where firewood banks can help! Groups of volunteers team up to make and distribute firewood to those who need it most.

Join Wood Products Extension in this webinar to take a closer look at how firewood banks work, their opportunities, and their limitations. We will hear from the Hinton Center and Warmth for Wake, two very different NC firewood banks about their missions, efforts, and successes.
