December Driptorch Digest and New Grant Opportunity

In addition, there is a new grant opportunity from the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities (Endowment) to accelerate implementation of prescribed burns on Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) contract lands in Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. The focus is on NRCS contracts awarded in support of the Working Lands for Wildlife—Gopher Tortoise partnership and Longleaf Pine Initiative, but all out-of-schedule prescribed burns on NRCS Practice 338 contracts are eligible.  This opportunity closes Friday, January 17, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern. Proposals received after this time may not be considered. Funding for this project is provided by NRCS (Federal funds) and the Endowment (Non-Federal funds).
