Wildlife School for Landowners to be Held in Enterprise, AL on August 22-23, 2013

The annual Wildlife School for Landowners, a land management training seminar, will be held in Coffee County at the Heritage United Methodist Church, 2911 Rucker Blvd., Enterprise, Alabama, on August 22-23, 2013.

The targeted audience for this training includes landowners and land managers interested in improving wildlife habitat and population management.

Topics include feral hog control, timber management, prescribed burning, wildlife openings, deer management, where to obtain technical and financial assistance, and much more.

The event is hosted by the Alabama Association of Conservation Districts Forestry and Wildlife Standing Committee. Sponsors include the Alabama Soil and Water Conservation Committee, the Coffee and Walker Counties Soil and Water Conservation Districts, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources – Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries, USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Longleaf Alliance, Bach & Devos Consulting, and the Alabama Wildlife Federation.

Be sure to register early for this event. Often, registration is closed early due to space limits being reached. Deadline for registering is August 15, 2013. The cost for registration before July 31 will be $50, with a discounted registration ($30) for a spouse. Late registration will be $60.

Registered foresters that attend will receive continuing education credits for each day of attendance.
