TAPPI Dedicated to Service

TAPPI Service Project

Student TAPPI members are dedicated to giving back!  On November 9, students worked at the Interfaith Food Shuttle of Raleigh’s teaching farm.  The farm is a small scale organic farm.   Produce from the farm is sold to local restaurants and at the Farm Stand, and is given to families in need.  TAPPI volunteers had a variety of jobs:  working in the field harvesting crops, washing planters for re-use, and organizing the greenhouse.TAPPI Service Project

Freshman through 5th year seniors participated and welcomed the opportunnity to give back, and have a break from their rigorous study schedule.

“It was a fun and rewarding opportunity to work together as a group and help our community,” said TAPPI Service Chair Joe McDonald.

Watch for our TAPPI chapter in action next semester as they particpate in Service Raleigh, a 15 year program started by Park Scholars and NC State Student Government.  We truly enjoy this event, as we also host our finalists for our Paper Super Scholars Full Scholarship Program.TAPPI Service Project
