Dr. Med Byrd selected as 2014 TAPPI Fellow

Congratulations to Dr. Medwick Byrd in our Paper Science and Engineering Program for being named a 2014 TAPPI Fellow!

TAPPI Fellows are selected in “recognition of meritorious service to the Association and industry”. Dr. Byrd was selected for his commitment to, and success in producing energized students who will become the next generation of industry leaders.
“Dr. Byrd is an awesome asset to our program and our students,” said senior Michelle Blood.  “He is very energetic about the industry and engaged with each and every student,” added Freddy Hobbs.

The Fellows are a very select group of industry leaders including many CEOs and CTOs, and other professionals who have allowed the pulp and paper industry to thrive. Dr. Byrd joins six other current NCSU faculty (Chang, Hubbe, Jameel, Kocurek, Phillips and Venditti) as TAPPI Fellows. NC State’s PSE program has more current TAPPI fellows than any other university.
