The Fire Research Institute is a not-for-profit wildland fire library. Users can access our library database and are able to perform real-time library searches. \"\"<\/a><\/td>The National Center for Atmospheric Research <\/a>
A project that examines the effects of information on the decisions homeowners make in wildfire-prone areas. Their goal is to document what people understand about wildfires, identify the significance of uncertainty about wildfire risk, and assess the value of various types of information for decisions regarding land development and wildfire risk mitigation. In particular, they hope to determine the extent to which people’s decisions to build homes in fire-prone areas and\/or mitigate risks are sensitive to differences in how they perceive the probability of wildfires. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>Southern Fire Exchange<\/a>
The Southern Fire Exchange (SFE) is a regional program for fire science delivery in the Southeast, funded by the Joint Fire Science Program. The SFE Resource Center consolidates southern fire information and provides new ways for the fire community to interact and learn from one another. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Their mission is to improve the safety and effectiveness of fire management by creating and disseminating the basic fire science knowledge, tools, and applications for scientists and managers.. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>Extreme Fire Behavior Science Review and Synthesis Project<\/a>
Funded by the Joint Fire Science Program, the goal of this project is to look at wildland fire extreme fire behavior (EFB) scientifically. They have designed this website so that interested parties can follow the progress of the review and interact with the reviewers. They post notes from meetings and other significant updates. Viewers can post comments or questions and search previous comments. The reviewers, can also respond to those comments and questions. The goal is to be scientifically rigorous, realistically grounded and operationally relevant. They want to focus on the issues that matter for fire fighter safety and fire management. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>Wildfire Research and Applications<\/a>
The Wildfire Research and Applications Partnership (WRAP) project was funded in 2003 under the NASA Office of Earth Science (OES) Cooperative Agreement Notice (CAN) . The objectives of the project are to foster collaborative partnerships between NASA and the US Forest Service to facilitate and demonstrate evolved and evolving technologies for increasing the information content and timeliness of earth resource data collected for wildfires. this initiative is the first major effort at formalizing and focusing wildfire science and applications between the agencies. The outcomes of this collaborative effort are creation of improved tools for Wildfire Decision Support Systems within the US Forest Service and the other fire mitigation and management agencies. It provides several of their reports and conference paper on the website. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>The Northwest and Alaska Fire Research Clearinghouse (FIRE House)<\/a>
The web-based project provide information about fire science and technology relevant to Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. Their goal is to provide “one-stop shopping” for resource managers, decision makers, scientists, students, and communities who want access to the results of efforts to understand and manage fire and fuels on public lands in these regions. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>Wildfire Research Network<\/a>
Wildfire Research Network (WRN) is a non-profit public safety, research and education organization founded in 2004. It publicizes the results of local, state and national research. Wildfire Research Network has conducted many research projects to better identify ways to control wildfires over the years. One section on the website provides downloadable copies of the documents that resulted from these studies. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Hawaii Wildfire Management Organization is non-profit organization dedicated to protecting communities and natural resources from the devastating effects of wildfire Since 2002, HWMO has worked with communities around the Island to implement dozens of projects to mitigate wildfire hazards and protect natural and cultural resources.
