Deena Bayoumi<\/em>
Deena began working on the wildfire project in Spring 2009, conducting field visits to Burney, CA in 2009, Las Vegas, NM, Flagstaff, AZ, and Kernville, CA in 2010. Her responsibilities have included data collection and analysis, assisting in developing research protocol, and coordinating team logistics during site visits. In addition, Deena has been key in developing and constructing the team\u2019s data management system. She continues to work on with other members of the team in publishing and presenting findings from the 2009 and 2010 fire season, focusing on information exchange within social networks and redundancy in complex disaster management systems.
Deena has a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from the University of South Carolina, a Masters in Public Administration from the College of Charleston, and is currently completing her PhD in Public Administration
at NC State University. Her professional interests focus on state energy policy and the role of policy networks in the public policy process. Prior to the wildfire project, Deena participated in studies and presented research analyzing the social network of individuals involved in rehabilitation of the Detroit River, diffusion of states\u2019 Sunset legislation, and the role of learning in the public policy process. She is currently in her final year of her PhD and working on her dissertation, which concentrates on systemic policy change and the differential factors that influence states\u2019 renewable energy capacity and generation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
